The exhibition “Vom Alltagszauber” runs at the Kurt Mühlenhaupt Museum in Berlin-Kreuzberg. It puts new works by the Berlin-based painter Amnon David Ar alongside pieces by Kurt Mühlenhaupt, who painted 20th-century Berlin. Ar turns to the overlooked: childhood objects, toys, portraits and people in wheelchairs, painted directly and without distance, with an eye for everyday life. The two artists, who never met, ask the same question: how do you paint life as it is?
