# Bitteres Fest

Bitteres Fest at ACUDkino, Monday 26 October 2026, 20:15.

"Bitteres Fest" (Amarga Navidad) is a Spanish drama by Pedro Almodóvar, who also wrote the screenplay; it stars Patrick Criado and Victoria Luengo. Two timelines and perspectives interweave into a layered play between reality and fiction: after her mother's death, the advertising director Elsa throws herself into work without allowing herself to grieve, while the writer and director Raúl Durán, struggling with a creative crisis, writes exactly the story that tells Elsa's life. The self-reflective film circles around illness, creativity and the question of when inspiration becomes appropriation of another's life.
