# BROOKLYN RIDER

BROOKLYN RIDER at Pierre Boulez Saal, Tuesday 3 November 2026, 19:30.

Brooklyn Rider, a string quartet from New York, performs a program titled „Chiaroscuro: Musik für Streichquartett von Ligeti, Ustwolskaja und Schubert“. The experimental ensemble presents well-known classics alongside the unusual, as it always does. Works by Galina Ustwolskaja and György Ligeti contrast with Hildegard von Bingen's roughly 1000-year-old antiphon „Caritas abundat in omnia“, which serves as a prelude to Schubert's great G major quartet – a masterpiece of musical chiaroscuro. The program also includes arrangements for string quartet made by Brooklyn Rider itself.
