# Die Taschendiebin

Die Taschendiebin at Babylon, Thursday 29 October 2026, 22:15.

It is a cinema screening of 'The Handmaiden' (아가씨) by Park Chan-wook with Kim Min-hee, Kim Tae-ri and Ha Jung-woo. The film is set in Korea in the 1930s under Japanese colonial rule: pickpocket Sook-hee takes a job as a maid to Hideko, a wealthy Japanese woman living in seclusion, arranged in truth by a con man who intends to marry Hideko and take her fortune. But an unexpected intimacy develops between the two women, and behind the estate's closed doors it becomes increasingly difficult to tell who is seducing, watching or deceiving whom.
