"Schwerer Stoff" presents Danube Swabian traditional costumes at the Museum Europäischer Kulturen. The display moves from poppy colours on golden grounds to deep black bridal wear and gives surprising insight into the former living environments of women and girls. Those worlds were narrow ones, shaped by village and church rules.
