The silent drama »Sensation im Wintergarten« follows the trapeze artist Frattani, who ran away as a child to join a travelling circus and returns to Berlin years later as a world-famous performer. Meanwhile his sly stepfather, Baron von Mallock, has exploited Paul's wealthy mother to fund his extravagant lifestyle and is prepared to go to extremes to stop Paul from receiving what is rightfully his. Directed in 1929 by Gennaro Righelli, the film promises suspense for audiences on screen and in the cinema alike. Thomas Worschech of the DFF – Deutsches Filminstitut & Filmmuseum gives an introduction, with Günter A. Buchwald on piano and Frank Bockius on percussion accompanying the silent film live.
