First Scares is a two-show event in which broadcaster and writer Matthew Sweet explores what film or TV moments genuinely terrified stars of stage and screen. The 14:00 session features interviews with Peter Straughan (Conclave), BAFTA-winning Best Actress Joanna Scanlan (After Love) and Angela Allen; the 17:00 session features Mark Gatiss (Sherlock, The League of Gentlemen), Lesley Manville (The Crown, Mrs Harris Goes to Paris), Sharon Duncan-Brewster (Dune) and Carol Morley (The Falling, Typist Artist Pirate King). Expect favourite scares, childhood nightmares and plenty of debate about what really gets under our skin.
