Spooky Salsa is a Halloween-themed Cuban salsa fundraiser night with a salsa class, a drag performance by Bella Bronzecuba, a salsa party, tarot readings and an ancestral altar, with a spooky dress code. It is organised by Queer Salsa with Mareas, a family-run grassroots mutual aid project led by generations of Cuban women based in London, working with Translucidos, a trans-led network supporting Cuba's trans and gender nonconforming community. All proceeds go directly to getting funds, medicines and essential supplies to communities in Cuba, which faces shortages of food, medicine and fuel amid an economic and energy crisis.
