Stratos is the resident jazz band of Grow's weekly Thursday Jazz Jam, a long-standing night held at a canalside venue in Hackney Wick. The band is led by Mercury Prize-nominated bassist Rio Kai, with Dom Pusey on saxophone, Mike De Souza on guitar and Zoe Pascal on drums. Each set explores both the classic roots and boundary-pushing edges of jazz, with improvisation and connection at its centre. After the first set, the jam opens up to jazz musicians who want to join in, and entry is free for jammers.
