Vera is a 1986 feature film directed by Sérgio Toledo. It is a pioneering work of transmasc cinema inspired by the life of Brazilian poet Anderson Bigode Herzer. It stars Ana Beatriz Nogueira as Bauer, a trans man who struggles to overcome a painful early life via the embrace of art and the love of a sympathetic young librarian (Aida Leiner). The film's title is the protagonist's dead name.
