About
The Berlin Märchentage (fairy tale days) are the largest fairy tale festival in the world and take place for the 37th time in 2026. Behind the festival stands the association Märchenland e.V. This year's motto is »Zauberflöte und Sternenharfe – Musik in Märchen und Geschichten« (magic flute and star harp – music in fairy tales and stories). Hundreds of events take place in Berlin and Brandenburg, including in libraries, bookshops, schools, concert and theatre houses, public administrations and embassies; the highlight is the ceremonial award of the Goldene Erbse (golden pea), and most events are free of charge.
