Alela Diane, a songwriter from Portland, plays a concert at Columbia Theater for her seventh studio album "Who's Keeping Time?". The album grew out of intuition, coincidence and community: after working mostly solo on her recent releases, she recorded fifteen songs live in less than five days together with Danny Austin-Manning, co-producer Sam Weber and Sebastian Owens. The eleven-track album ranges from lulling to raw to cinematic, carried by her mellifluous voice, which has honed the strength to face pain without getting lost. The Hackles from Astoria, Oregon open the show, performing as a duo of Kati and Luke for this tour.
