About
"Himmelsstudien" is the 59th cabinet exhibition at the Evangelisches Zentrum Berlin. The Spanish artist Andrés Galeano collects pieces of sky from photographs he finds at flea markets and in old photo albums. In the composed arrangement, these become sky studies that reveal something of the sky's colour and of their origins, such as holiday scenes, family celebrations and landscape pictures. The picture collector, who also sees himself as a post-photographer, thus honours a piece of amateur photography history and reflects the longing for transcendence.
