Asphaltnacht

About
Asphaltnacht is a film by Peter Fratzscher that follows a journey through the night in West Berlin in the late 1970s. The not-so-old veteran rocker Angel meets the young punk Johnny, and together they drift in a Ford Mustang from the Lido in Kreuzberg to the Funkturm and the Tauentzien. Angel is a romantic who wants to tear down walls with rock’n’roll; Johnny acts cool, cynical and defiant. Neither knows where they belong, yet they share the certainty that “Rock’n’Roll is bigger than all of us”.
