About
BAUBAU is a free play space for children on the ground floor of the Gropius Bau, an exhibition house in Berlin. Artist Kerstin Brätsch designed it with colourful wallpapers, structures, objects and loose parts that set no fixed rules and are shaped by what the children do. Trained playworkers accompany the open-ended play, and the project is curated by Jenny Schlenzka, Patrizia Dander and Sonja Borstner. Conceived as a pilot project, the space is meant to grow over the coming years and spread into the outdoor areas.
