About
Chodowiecki 300 – Berliner Künstlerinnen um 1800 is a compact exhibition at the Knoblauchhaus showing drawings and prints by the daughters and female pupils of the graphic artist Daniel Chodowiecki (1726–1801). It is a cooperation with the Art Collection of the Akademie der Künste Berlin and part of the joint project Chodowiecki 300 marking the artist's 300th birthday. The works tell of the talent, training and persistence of women who around 1800 fought for a place in the art world. The exhibition presents Berlin as a city where art and migration histories are closely interwoven.
