About
"Das hässliche Entlein" is a humorous dance theatre piece for audiences aged 5 and up, based on Hans-Christian Andersen's fairy tale. Director and choreographer Maria Walser focuses on actively engaging with "not belonging" rather than portraying a sad victim role. Branded as ugly and disruptive by the duck community, the little duck becomes entangled in an identity crisis and embarks on an adventure journey driven by longing and defiance. Four performers from music, dance and drama create an imaginative journey through the confusions of self-perception and others' perception, supported by schoolchildren as part of the ATZE Co-Piloten project.
