ECSTATIC DANCE

Ecstatic Dance is a form of dance in which dancers surrender to the rhythm, sometimes without following set steps, moving freely as the music carries them, leading to trance and a feeling of ecstasy. Behind it is the Ecstatic Dance Berlin community, with local and international DJs, dance teachers and live musicians providing varied music. The dance is barefoot and wordless, without alcohol or drugs, in an inclusive atmosphere of mutual respect and openness. The music ranges from world music with oriental and African influences to electronic music, pop and classical; DJ Sarasvati Dasi plays on this evening.
