Hello Cello
Improvised musical play with two cellists.
Ratibortheater, Cuvrystraße 20a, 10997 Berlin, Kreuzberg
About
"Hello Cello" is a musical and scenic interaction between two cellists and improvisation theatre performers – lively, surprising, entertaining and sometimes simply beautiful. Behind the project are the accomplished cellists Moritz Ebert and Simon Hoffmann, who came up with the idea for a joint project after attending a Gorillas show and talking with those involved. On stage they meet the performers of the Gorillas, with Felix Raffel adding support at the keyboards. The cello, normally a "classic" of romance, longing and sensuality, is run through a distortion unit or Moog filter to evoke science-fiction sounds and modern soundscapes – an improvisation in which musicians and actors inspire each other.
