Im Herzen der Gewalt

"Im Herzen der Gewalt" is a theatre production at the Schaubühne am Lehniner Platz. The French author Édouard Louis wrote the autobiographical novel about a traumatic night in Paris in which an encounter between two young men abruptly turns into threat, violence and rape. Thomas Ostermeier adapted the novel for the stage together with Édouard Louis, in its first German-language production. The reconstruction of that night and the reactions of those around reveal deeply rooted racism, homophobia and opaque power structures.
