About
IN THE CORPSE OF THE PRESENT Prinz Friedrich von Homburg is an eight-hour work by Marco Fusinato after Heinrich von Kleist's play, unfolding across two levels of the house. The former foyer becomes a stage where performers turn the prince's isolated words, a recording of Peter Stein's 1972 production, and a scanned Kleist monument into sound and ritual. In the large auditorium, Fusinato improvises on electric guitar against an edited sequence of video drawn from different sources, evoking spectacle, collapse and interruption. Visitors move freely between both rooms and compose their own encounter with the work.
