Life–Death
Galerie Thomas Schulte, Potsdamer Straße 81B, Tiergarten
About
Life–Death is an exhibition of works by Katharina Sieverding at Galerie Thomas Schulte, presented for Berlin Art Week 2026. At its heart is Sieverding's 1969 film of the same name, shown as a dual-channel projection and accompanied by large-format film stills and photographic tableaux. Made in what was then West Berlin, the work shows portraits, body studies and shifting roles in heavy makeup and androgynous costumes. Its soundtrack was recorded in 1972 by the musicians of Kraftwerk in a single improvised studio session.
