About

"Low Frequencies" is a long concert evening at Kunstquartier Bethanien devoted to the deepest vibrations of bass instruments and bass voices, in three sets. It is part of the Klangwerkstatt Berlin festival for new music. Beatrix Wagner opens with the rare contrabass flute in G, performing works by Alessio Rossato and Gerald Eckert alongside Eckert's electronics. The American singer Andrew Munn then performs Horațiu Rădulescu's "These Occult Oceans" for solo bass voice and up to 17 pre-recorded bass voices, before the trombone and percussion ensemble BONECRUSHER closes the evening with pieces by Ellen Arkbro and Matthias Muche.
