"MAXI THOM | Gallery Cabinet" is an exhibition of contemporary painting at the Haverkampf Leistenschneider gallery. It shows dense, expressive compositions by Maxi Thom, an emerging Berlin painter currently completing his studies at the Kunsthochschule Berlin Weißensee under Prof. Friederike Feldmann and Prof. Nader Ahriman. His paintings centre on the intricate nuances of human relationality, moving between proximity and distance, intimacy and alienation, and translate fleeting physical gestures into complex painterly layers. Drawing on the choreographic language of Pina Bausch and the interiors of Édouard Vuillard, his figurative works capture vulnerability and tension; Thom is also nominated for the Art Prize of Haus am Kleistpark 2026.
