About
NACHTFLIMMERN – POP-CHANSONS is an entertaining evening of song that turns into an expedition into nocturnal in-between worlds, where everyday identities dissolve. It is a shimmering musical excess with a wild mix from Adele to Kurt Weill, from Depeche Mode to Zarah Leander, with cheeky quips and profound thoughts. Sebastian Maihs revels, pines and belts out the songs, turning them into small dramatic events, while Tobias Bartholmeß on piano clothes them in sensitive, elegant and sometimes rockingly overwhelming soundscapes. The two become border crossers – expansive and vulnerable, serious but never deadly serious: pop chansons between abyss and ecstasy.
