About
Not All Travellers Walk Roads—Of Humanity as Practice is an exhibition at Haus der Kulturen der Welt, the Berlin edition of the 36th Bienal de São Paulo, staged in Germany for the first time. It was conceived by Bonaventure Soh Bejeng Ndikung together with co-curators Alya Sebti, Anna Roberta Goetz and Thiago de Paula Souza, with Alya Sebti curating the Berlin edition. More than thirty international artists contribute installations, performances, sound works, storytelling and spatial interventions, departing from a poem by the Brazilian writer Conceição Evaristo. The works approach listening and humanity as a living practice, engaging with the political and colonial inheritances of modernity as well as with care, interdependence, animal and plant life, memory and spirit.
