About

A roda de choro is the Brazilian equivalent of a jam session, where musicians sit in a circle around a table playing choro, a folk and instrumental music from Rio de Janeiro that has blended European chamber music with African rhythms since the second half of the nineteenth century. The fairly syncopated result is a joyful music with rich harmony, melody and aesthetics. Anyone who likes can join the circle and explore a huge song repertoire, improve through exchange with more experienced players, or simply listen. No organizers are named.
