Trickster

Trickster is a solo exhibition of paintings and drawings at Kristin Hjellegjerde Gallery in Berlin. It presents work by painter Bertram Hasenauer, who builds faces and bodies from few lines and thin layers of pigment, names some figures after trickster characters such as Loki or Ananse, and shows small landscapes alongside them. The images hover between recognition and uncertainty, playing on the point where perception ends and imagination begins.
