Umstrittene Verwandtschaft. Koloniale und nationalsozialistische Gewalt

This exhibition in the lower level of the Pei Bau at the German Historical Museum compares central features of colonial and National Socialist violence in the twentieth century. Organized by the Deutsches Historisches Museum, it traces the debate over similarities, differences and the conflation of these two regimes of violence back to its origins in the 1930s. Anticolonial thinkers, journalists, politicians, historians and Holocaust survivors have posed these questions for nearly a hundred years. The show invites visitors to judge such comparisons for themselves on the basis of historical facts.
