Watching People Watching Birds

"Watching People Watching Birds" is a documentary about people who watch birds. Ulrike Franke and Michael Loeken follow amateur ornithologists, scientists and activists engaged in global bird protection, among them the author Jonathan Franzen. Bird numbers and diversity are declining dramatically worldwide, while more and more people discover the world of birds for themselves. Through the eyes and ears of the birdwatchers, the world of birds becomes a metaphor for the state of our planet.
