About

Lúnasa is a concert of Irish traditional music at the Irish Cultural Centre, one of two special nights the band plays there this November. The band was formed in 1997 by musicians from some of the finest Irish bands of the previous decade and is named after the ancient Celtic harvest festival honouring the god Lugh. Described early on by Folk Roots magazine as an "Irish music dream team", they have performed more than 3,000 concerts across 36 countries and helped redefine the possibilities of Irish traditional instrumental music. The current line-up features Trevor Hutchinson, Cillian Vallely, Kevin Crawford, Seán Smyth, Alan Kelly and Ed Boyd, and the band arrives following the release of their tenth album, Live in Kyoto.
