A screening of Hou Hsiao-hsien's 2001 film about an aimless bar hostess in Taipei, drifting from her blowhard boyfriend towards a suave, sensitive gangster. Structured as a flashback to the then-present from the then-future of 2011, it is a trance-like dive into the techno-scored neon nightlife of the city, drenched in club lights with a nagging undercurrent of ennui.
