About

Museum Lates is an evening opening of Dr Johnson's House, where visitors can enjoy sparkling drinks while exploring a 1690s Georgian townhouse in the City of London. The event is run by Dr Johnson's House, the home where the writer Samuel Johnson compiled his Dictionary of the English Language in 1755. Guests can browse the rooms from Parlour to Garret, try writing with a quill, leaf through the Dictionary, and look out for Hodge, Johnson's cat. At 6pm there is a short talk of ten to fifteen minutes in the Withdrawing Room about Shakespeare's presence in Johnson's life.
