About

Nevermore is a musical that offers a fictionalised retelling of the life of poet and gothic fiction writer Edgar Allan Poe. Created by Jonathan Christenson, it is filled with references to Poe's poems and short stories and explores the tragedies of his life, from death and poverty to abandonment and addiction. Poe boards a steamship from Richmond, Virginia bound for New York, never to arrive, and on the voyage journeys into memory and imagination to confront his own twisted tale. After sell-out runs in Canada and off-Broadway, the hauntingly beautiful show comes to London with an eclectic operatic score ranging from cabaret to rock power ballads.
