About
Oliver! is a West End musical performed at the Gielgud Theatre in London. It has book, music, and lyrics by Lionel Bart and adapts Charles Dickens' novel, telling of the orphan Oliver Twist, who escapes a grim workhouse and falls in with the duplicitous Fagin and his gang of pickpockets in the seedy underbelly of Victorian London. The show is packed with lively choreography, dynamic sets, and songs like Food, Glorious Food, Consider Yourself and I'd Do Anything, with a cast including Simon Lipkin as Fagin, Ava Brennan as Nancy, Aaron Sidwell as Bill Sikes and Aaron MacGregor as the Artful Dodger. First premiering in 1960 and winner of Olivier, Tony, and Oscar awards, it is a family-friendly show for ages 7 and up, running about 2 hours and 40 minutes including an interval.
