Remembrance Sunday
St Brides, St. Bride's Avenue, EC4Y 8AU London
About
A solemn church service marking Remembrance Sunday, beginning with the Last Post and a traditional two-minute silence. It is held by St Bride's Church, whose choir and orchestra perform Gabriel Fauré's Requiem Mass, starting with the Pie Jesu as commemorative wreaths are laid on the altar steps. The service honours those who lost their lives fighting for their country, in a tradition begun in 1919, and lasts about one hour and thirty minutes.
