The Buffoonery is a one-night-only comedy fundraiser at Leicester Square Theatre in support of the Sumatran Orangutan Society, named after the word for a group of orangutans. Comedy legend Stewart Lee appears alongside Marty Gleeson, winner of the 2026 Edinburgh Comedy Award for Best Newcomer, Chloe Petts of Channel 4's Taskmaster, and acclaimed comics Alexandra Haddow and Elliot Steel. The night is hosted by Matt Green, an experienced stand-up comedian and MC, with James Gill, acclaimed host of Always Be Comedy, keeping things on track. Every ticket helps SOS work with conservation partners and communities in Indonesia to protect orangutans, forests and biodiversity in Sumatra.
