About
A screening of the fantasy-thriller "V for Vendetta", in which Great Britain has become a fascist state and a shadowy freedom fighter known only as "V" begins a violent guerrilla campaign to destroy those who have embraced totalitarianism. It comes from the Wachowskis and Joel Silver, the masterminds behind The Matrix trilogy, and was directed by James McTeigue. Hugo Weaving plays "V", who recruits a young woman played by Natalie Portman for an epic adventure to execute a seemingly impossible task. It is based on the DC Comics/Vertigo graphic novel written by Alan Moore and illustrated by David Lloyd.

Critics
6.7Good
Praise goes to the lead performances, striking visuals and thought-provoking ideas, along with the action set pieces. Critics fault a verbose, weak script, dreary pacing and political themes some find simplistic or naive.
