About

A thriller about Jay Gardiner, who goes diving off the central coast of California after his father's death in search of his remains and is swallowed by a massive sperm whale. Trapped inside its belly with only one hour of oxygen left, he realizes that the hard-earned lessons his father imparted may be the key to his escape. The film was made by Jason Blumenfeld and Brian Duffield and stars Josh Brolin, John Ortiz, Austin Abrams, Elisabeth Shue, Jane Levy and Emily Rudd.

Critics

6.1Good

Critics praise the claustrophobic suspense, striking visuals and the lead performance. They fault the sentimental, overstuffed father-son flashbacks that dilute tension and depth.
