About

"William Klein: 100" is a major retrospective of the artist's work, one of the most comprehensive presentations of it in London in recent years. It opens at the gallery HackelBury to mark the centenary of William Klein's birth. The exhibition brings together street photography, fashion imagery, portraits, early abstract works and later painted contact sheets, tracing his radical reinvention of photography and his influence on post-war visual culture. Moving between New York, Paris and London, it presents the city as a charged theatre of crowds, signage, glamour and confrontation.
