hvlt

HVLT is a forward-thinking electric ensemble that explores modern hip-hop, pop, R&B, and folk through the improvisational language and discipline of jazz. The band reimagines notable songs and plays original music that blurs genre boundaries, balancing groove, texture, and spontaneity with intention and emotional clarity. It is led by vocalist, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Wes Montego, with drummer Michael Shekwoaga Ode, bassist Butler Knowles, guitarist Logan Butler, and pianist Wilfie Williams. Its members have shared stages and collaborated with artists such as Wyclef Jean, Jill Scott, Common, Roy Hargrove, and Ambrose Akinmusire.
