Show Trial

Show Trial is a political satire staged as a piece of theater, part of a run that begins on October 15th. It was written by Laura Zlatos and directed by Tom Costello, presented by Breakneck Productions with a cast of nine performers. The story follows one woman standing alone against an oppressive regime, turning state propaganda into farce with choreographed confessions and scripted testimony. It draws on the real transcripts of the 1950 trial of Milada Horáková, a Czechoslovak dissident accused of treason by a regime that had already written the verdict, and asks about the choices we make when history belongs to the victors.
