The Body Within Abstraction

«The Body Within Abstraction» is a group exhibition at Museum Haus Konstruktiv in Zurich. Eight internationally renowned artists – Heidi Bucher, Eva Fàbregas, Kimsooja, Dóra Maurer, Bruce Nauman, Steven Parrino, Chiharu Shiota and Franz West – show works that playfully and critically question the conventional reading of constructivist-concrete art, in which the human body was largely ignored. The exhibition demonstrates how the body can serve as both a unit of measure and thematic basis for minimalistically pared-down, non-figurative art. It is also the first presentation since the museum moved to the Löwenbräukunst-Areal to use all of its new exhibition spaces in both wings, and it celebrates the museum's 40th anniversary.
