About
Unlesbar is an exhibition about writing that cannot be read at once, which unsettles yet also sparks curiosity. It is shown at the Strauhof and presents 42 documents from the Swiss Literary Archive, hardly legible or altered, enciphered, blacked out and struck through. The exhibition spans ancient writing systems, graphic design and typography up to (un)readable literary classics and the swirling signs of a fast-moving present. It develops a visual aesthetic that fascinates independently of the content.
