About
"Auf dem Karussell" is a group exhibition on childhood and memory, presenting works by ten artists and curated by Sigrun Drapatz and Şehnaz Layıkel Prange. It explores what memories evoke in us, how looking back shapes our present and future, and how the narrative we tell about ourselves shapes and transforms our memories. The exhibition takes place indoors and outdoors: the indoor space features artists who grew up outside Germany, while the outdoor presentation shows artists who grew up in Kreuzberg or moved there young, with works on screens in shop windows around the residential block BLOCK 57. It is accompanied by events including a film screening, a Walk & Talk, and a finissage; all participating artists live and work in Berlin today.
