About

Alan Charlton: CIRCLE PAINTINGS is a solo exhibition at Galerie Konrad Fischer in Berlin. The gallery is presenting its 20th solo exhibition with the British artist Alan Charlton, who has worked exclusively with the colour grey since the mid-1970s. The new works are circular compositions that differ in diameter, shade of grey and number of individual elements. Charlton's paintings follow a precise system of measurement, with height, width and depth determined as multiples of 4.5 cm, exploring the relationship between the physical painting and the architecture that surrounds it.
