About

"Among Friends" is an exhibition of small, cinematic paintings by the Barwon Heads-based artist Chelsea Gustafsson. It is her first solo show at the gallery's Berlin location since its announcement of her representation. In the works, she casts collected curios and anthropomorphised detritus as starring subjects of intricate still-life worlds in miniature. The paintings revisit familiar motifs with playful items such as disco balls and porcelain ornaments alongside filmic atmospheres and art-historical allusions.
