About

A city walking tour of the Karl-Marx-Allee, which as a grand boulevard modelled on Moscow tells the story of postwar reconstruction in divided Berlin the socialist way. The route starts at the twin towers at Frankfurter Tor and leads through the best-known part of the street with its 'pastry-chef style' buildings. It passes structures by Hermann Henselmann and Ludmilla Herzenstein, the Café Sibylle and the former Kosmos cinema, ending at Kino International. The tour takes place to accompany the exhibition 'Josef Kaiser. Bauen für die DDR' at the Berlinische Galerie.
