About
“Die kleine Hexe” (The Little Witch) is a children's film shown as a cinema screening. It was directed by Michael Schaerer and is a German-Swiss production from 2017. At only 127 years old, the little witch is too young to dance at Walpurgis Night, and as punishment she must learn every spell from the great magic book within a year. Together with her talking raven Abraxas she sets out to discover what it truly means to be a good witch, while the evil witch Rumpumpel tries to stop her.

6.9Good
Critics praise the faithful adaptation, colourful production design, effects and calm storytelling. They fault the male-dominated perspective behind the camera and its reading of the witch figure.
