About

The Mighty Wurlitzer is the largest cinema and theatre organ on the European continent and a highlight of the permanent exhibition at the Musikinstrumenten-Museum. The programme is run by the Staatliches Institut für Musikforschung – Preußischer Kulturbesitz, whose display collection includes this instrument. It presents the four-manual organ that Werner Ferdinand von Siemens, grandson of the company founder, bought in 1929 from the Rudolph Wurlitzer Company in North Tonawanda, New York. The organ is played regularly in concerts.
